Former Northampton back Bruce Reihana will retire at the end of the season after not having his contract renewed by Bordeaux Bègles.
The 38-year-old has been with the French club since 2011, making 48 appearances, but he is best known for his time in England.
Reihana spent nearly a decade with the Saints and became a cult hero at Franklin's Gardens, scoring over 1000 points in 218 appearances.
He won two caps for the All Blacks in 2000, but has been out injured since last October with a knee ligament injury.
Reihana's son Evaan is part of the academy at the French club and Reihana had hoped to play a professional match alongside him, but admitted that now won't happen.
"I am stopping because my contract isn't being renewed," Reihana told AFP.
"It was my dream before retiring [to play with Evaan], but it won't be possible now."
