Really he hasnt much option now has he ,after the shocking imo decision by the IRB.Wales screamed bloody murder and hailed him as a future welsh player .Now i wonder will he ever be considered ,as their are supposedly 5 players ahead of him for international honours in 2013.,and a raft ofyounger players comming through .With no A team i feel he will be forgotten by the welsh managment as another U20 catches their eye.

Hard to believe this is a serious article. There's at least 6 centres ahead of him in the pecking order and probably more!

Dont wanna be funny, but he didnt want to play for us when he thought he had a better chance of playing for Scotland.
Think he should be left out to dry, dont touch him with a bargepole.
He should have decided where his heart lied and stuck with it.
I for one dont want to see him in a welsh shirt

he's 21, he's allowed to mess up from time to time. bet he's walked into a lamp post at least once too.

how good is he actually - would he even be first choice 12 for either nation? maybe he can go live in madagascar for 3 years and then get the international rugby he so craves.... just like all the Saffa's seem to be doing over here - no recognition at home so come and qualify for a NH team.... sucks, should be upped to 5+ years...at least!!

Following his logic he's now saying he would settle for second best...I'm pretty sure that no one at the WRU will be beating any paths to his door.
Can you hear that watery sound behind you ? Well son thats the sound of your international career being flushed down the toilet.

Shingler has blown it, not sure if its naive or arrogance. Lets hope other young players hoping to jump the fence and fast track to international rugby will learn from this?

He has a Scottish mother and "hadn't really considered it (playing for Scotland) before." Gee, Thanks mom for all the times you got up early and drove me to practice on your days off! I'm glad he won't be available to Scotland and frankly think he'll have to learn to walk on water to ever get the WRU to look past this situation he created.

I think that more or less vindicates the WRU when everyone was saying Shingler was being unfairly treated and treated like a cinderella case. Nay, Shingler was just trying to fly the flag of convenience.
I think his antics will have put off a lot of people who otherwise would have supported him in challenging for a place in the Wales team.

I reckon that if he has a quick look behind him he'll see a bridge. But, unfortunately, it's been burned.
Should've thought about this first. If AR had approached him, he should have said,
"That's kind Andy, what an honour to be considered and asked! I played for Wales at U20 level, so I don't know where that leaves me. I'm half Scotish and half Welsh, so playing for either would be an enormous honour, priviledge and thrill. Let's check the eligibility before I have to make any decisions and upset any applecarts. Thanks."

I don't want anyone playing for Wales who would prefer to be somewhere else, we've made that mistake before and certainly shouldn't be repeating it.

He obviously wasn't very keen on playing for Scotland at all then. I'm glad he didnt play for us after all.
