Mike Brown Eng v Arg 2013

Award-winner: Mike Brown

Harlequins full-back Mike Brown has been voted the Official 2013 Man of the Series for England's three November Tests.

With two out of three wins in the Test series, including a close encounter with world champions New Zealand, the England team laid down a marker against tough southern hemisphere opposition. There were strong individual performances throughout the team with four players in particular standing out and earning their place on the Man of the Series shortlist.

With Man of the Match performances against Australia and Argentina respectively, Mike Brown and Dylan Hartley took two of the four shortlist places. All Blacks legend Zinzan Brooke picked Courtney Lawes out as the outstanding performer against his native New Zealand.

Rugby fans were then given the chance to choose the final candidate via a Twitter vote. Despite close competition from Chris Robshaw and 2012 QBE Man of the Series; Joe Launchbury, Tom Wood emerged as the fourth and final player for the shortlist.

The lone Harlequins full-back Brown faced a tough challenge of competing with a strong Northampton Saints triumvirate for the accolade but in a second fan vote over four days, raced ahead and scooped 75% of over 5,000 votes to become the Man of the Series.

Taking his outstanding form for Harlequins into the three-game series Brown only missed five minutes of the match time after being subbed at the end of England's second Test victory against Argentina. Brown consistently excited fans with 39 running attacks with the ball, beating 17 defenders in the process.

He also was instrumental in defence, not missing a single tackle and turning over possession twice. His role in each game took the 28 year-old to 21 caps for England.

Brown has been presented with £1,000 to go towards his chosen charity, Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby.
