George Ford kicking for Bath

12 points: George Ford

Bath coach Mike Ford was delighted with his side's performance after they overcame play-off rivals Exeter 27-23 at Sandy Park on Saturday.

Ford's son, George, slotted twelve points in the Premiership fixture as Bath kept very much in the hunt, but the boss was quick to share the praise.

"It is not just about George because Kyle (Eastmond) is coming more into the game," said Ford about the showing of his young backline.

"The conditions didn't suit him that well today but when he goes for the line he is just as good as George.

"And the way that Ollie Devoto has progressed over the past 10 months has been outstanding."

He added: "The Exeter coaches have done a fantastic job over the past few years and their defence coach is asking more questions than any team in the country.

"If you don't defend here, then they are going to catch you out."
