'But anyone can beat anyone on their day'.

There is a good deal of evidence to suggest that this is not the case...

This Ford youngster wont have played in a game of the intensity he is about to face from the NZ under 20 players, so expect him to crack under the pressure once Sam Cane, Whitelock, Axtens etc come at him and shut down his time & space. He wont get any room like he has had in other JWC games and the teams he has played against basically havent bothered tackling at all.

The England forwards are over rating themselves, the captain is talking with lots of confidence about "matching NZ' etc, matching them isnt going to win the game for England, reality will set in after 60 minutes or so....

NZ by 30.....

Sounds promising great to see so much potential at fly half. Farrell and Ford appear to be the future and post WC #10's and they couldn't be at two better clubs than Leicester and Sarries respectively, which im sure will make for some mouthwatering matches between the two top England clubs for the England number 10 shirt. Its interesting how Ford got the nod over Farrell considering the later has played more premiership rugby.

He's gifted - although seems quite small. Wikipedia puts his stats at 5'7 (175cm) and 12 stone 8lbs (80kg). Great vision, really good tactical kicking, and always looks like he has time on the ball (like a less complete, smaller Dan Carter).

Looking like he's above Farrell in the pecking order for Eng though, as he's the starting 10 and Farrell was pushed out to 12 for the Semifinal.

He's an exceptional talent with bags of potential - he plays on the gainline and has good technical distribution skills, already a howitzer of a boot and is also confident enough to try and beat a man himself. He reminds me more of Hodgson in his style of play, whereas I see Farrell and Clegg as being closer in style to Wilkinson.
