Zebre have announced the signings of South African pair Ulrich Beyers and Johan Meyer for next season.

Bulls academy product Beyers, 24, arrives from Bordeaux-Bègles, who he joined as a medical joker earlier this season.

Previously he had featured for the Bulls, making nine Super Rugby appearances, and he can play across the backline.

Meanwhile back row Meyer, 22, arrives from the Sharks where he played in both the Vodacom and Currie Cups.

Team manager Andrea de Rossi said: "We've completed our squad for next season with two arrivals who will give us more competition and depth.

"Beyers is a utility back with significant experience as a youth international and can play fly-half, centre and full-back. The fact he already knows European rugby is undoubtedly a key factor for his rapid integration in the squad.

"Meyer, one of the youngest forwards in our squad, will join a back row which has been overhauled. A great ball carrier as well as a lineout jumper, he has lots of experience for his age."
