Zas swaps Stormers for Sharks

The Sharks have bolstered their backline stocks with the announcement that utility back Leolin Zas will join them for their 2018 Super Rugby campaign.

The former Stormers and South Africa U20 representative is the Durban-based franchise’s third new signing and comes after the recruitment of another ex Stormers player, fly-half Robert du Preez, and Cheetahs wing Makazole Mapimpi.

Zas featured mostly on the wing but during his time with the Stormers but is also capable of playing at full-back or centre.

The 22-year-old made his Stormers debut in 2016 but missed the entire 2017 season after breaking his leg during a pre-season fixture in February.

The Sharks confirmed Zas’ recruitment via their Twitter account.
