Treviso have announced an agreement with flanker Alessandro Zanni for him to stay in Treviso for the next three seasons.
Born in Udine, Zanni is currently playing his sixth season with the Lions, having come from Calvisano in 2009/2010 (previously he played for his native Rugby Udine).
With the green and whites he has won the Italian Championship, a Super Cup and an Italian Cup and has been part of the team for five seasons of the Celtic League/Pro12.
He has worn the prestigious shirt of the Barbarians and has 87 caps for Italy.
A knee injury back in week one of the Six Nations led to surgery and an estimated rehabilitation time of five months, which means Zanni's season is over.
His signature though is an important one as Treviso build for next season.
"We all know the value of Alessandro and what he can give to the team, commented President Amerino Zatta
"The next one will be his seventh season in Treviso and obviously he has shown himself as a natural leader both on and off the field for us and for Italy as well.
"I'm sure this news will make all our supporters very happy and we are all very eager to embrace Alessandro back onto the pitch”.
