Your Views: Referee improvements

Time for an extra whistle?

As a Leinster supporter and keen rugby fan, I think the standard of refereeing is inconsistent in all recent domestic and international matches with different interpretation of the laws of rugby football in both hemispheres. It is the same game – rugby.

More powers should be given to assistant referees on the touchlines such as an overruling a referees decision on the breakdown and scrum during the match and foul play.

World Rugby should look thoroughly at referees and refereeing – perhaps have two referees on the field at the same time for example. The Australian Rugby League competition – the NRL – has done this recently.
