Youngs ‘felt sick’ after French win

Ben Youngs might have scored two tries for England in their win over France, but the pain of missing out on the title was paramount.

Youngs bagged two tries as England tried to win by 26 points but ultimately fell a converted try short of taking the title away from Ireland.

The scrum-half has had a fine tournament and re-established himself as England's number one scrum-half, but he was left devastated by the outcome on Saturday.

"It's not very often you score seven tries, beat France and walk off feeling sick," said Youngs.

"We are devastated to get so close to getting the job done. We always felt we had a chance in the game even though it was a big, big ask.

"Each time we got a try they seem to get one back and that was the biggest disappointment but we were determined not to leave anything out there or waste any chances.

"We really gave it a crack but for all the hard work we showed, you cannot let them back in the game and we are just gutted. We knew that the French would tire but we just gave ourselves too much to climb in the end.

"At least we have the consolation of winning a big game at Twickenham and showing people that we can finish off moves and score plenty of tries when we play this way."
