Harlequins winger Marland Yarde will know what to expect when he takes on Wasps flyer Christian Wade this weekend.

Neither of the England internationals lack for pace and will face off in what is sure to be a thrilling derby between the two London clubs.

Yarde has joined Harlequins from London Irish this season and despite a tough loss last Friday, 0-39 to Saracens, is looking forward to taking on his friend on Saturday.

“I'm good friends with Christian and he is very dangerous in space. It wasn't too long ago that he was player of the season,” Yarde told the club website.

“We played together in the England set-up and knowing you are facing a player with his talent and skills in the Premiership can only drive you on to improve and put yourself in the best position you can be when you get out on to the pitch.

“Wasps will be dangerous on Saturday. They made a number of very good signings over the off-season, you can probably see from the Double Header they are a physical side and they are a side that want to play as well.

“They have got some great backs like Elliot Daly, who I played with at school, and a lot of quick mobile forwards so it's going to be a challenging game.

“If the weather holds out and there is firm ground, both teams will be looking to play some fast, running rugby and it should be a very competitive, entertaining match.”
