WP Rugby appoints new CEO

Western Province have announced the appointment of their new CEO – Paul Zacks – following the retirement of Rob Wagner.

He will assume his new role from May 1 after a lengthy process was undertaken to find the ideal candidate.

President of the Western Province Rugby Football Union Mr Thelo Wakefield is confident that Zacks will make a positive impact in the ongoing efforts to take Union forward.

"Mr Zacks comes with a wealth of experience in the private sector, and we would like to welcome him to the Western Province family," Wakefield told wprugby.com

"I am confident that he will be able to build Western Province Rugby further as we seek to achieve our vision of becoming the top rugby union in the world."

Wakefield thanked General Manager Marketing and Events Gavin Lewis who was the interim CEO until now.

"Gavin Lewis has done a terrific job as interim CEO, and I would like to thank him for his unwavering service to the Western Province Rugby."
