WP back-row Nizaam Carr and wing Seabelo Senatla could not hide their delight after being named in the Bok squad for the tour to Europe.
Western Province back-row Nizaam Carr and wing Seabelo Senatla are overjoyed after being named in the Springbok squad for the upcoming tour to Europe.
The duo helped WP to win their second Currie Cup title in three years at the weekend and were amongst five newcomers – along with the Golden Lions trio of Robbie Coetzee, Julian Redelinghuys and Jaco Kriel – called up by Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer.
Carr described 2014 as an “unforgettable” year.
“I wasn’t even in the Stormers team at the start of the year,” the 23-year-old told Die Burger’s website.
I will try learn as much as possible on the tour. It’s a huge honour and privilege to go along.
“It will be an added bonus if I get game time.”
21-year-old Senatla, who won a gold medal with the Springbok Sevens team at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow earlier this year, is just excited to be in the squad and wants to gain as much as possible from the tour.
I’m so happy,” he said.
“I’m going to tour with my heroes and learn a lot.”
