Worcester Warriors have snapped up Georgian hooker Jaba Bregvadze, bolstering their front row stocks.

Bregvadze represented Georgia at the 2011 and 2015 Rugby World Cups, producing strong performances helping Georgia to wins over Tonga and Namibia, as they finished third in their pool, and booked their place at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.

The bulky hooker, who previously played for Toulouse in the Top 14, says he is ecstatic about joining his Warrior team mates ahead of this weekend's clash with Gloucester.

"Both myself and my family are very excited about the move to Worcester." said Bregvadze

"Having played in the Top 14 for a number of years, I'm keen to test and prove myself in the Aviva Premiership against some of the very best teams in Europe.

"Dean Ryan and the rest of the Warriors coaching staff are really building something here and I can't wait to get started and play a big part in it."

Worcester Warriors director of rugby, Dean Ryan says Bregvadze will add value to their front row.

"Jaba is an experienced international who will add strength and depth to our front row." said Ryan.

"We've been really impressed by his performances at the Rugby World Cup and are excited to be able add him to our squad.

"He will add more competition for the number two shirt while being able to drive standards of some of our younger players in what is a key area."
