Sir Clive Woodward is one of the eight people on the shortlist to become the next France coach according to L'Equipe.

The former England boss, who won the World Cup in 2003, has reportedly applied for the job and is one of the eight candidates who will meet with the FFR this week.

Guy Novès remains the favourite to replace Philippe Saint-André, and is set to be interviewed today, with the FFR to whittle the shortlist down to three before announcing the successful candidate at the end of the month or the start of June.

Woodward was in charge of England until 2004 and has since spent time working with the British Olympic Association ahead of the London Olympics.
