England flanker Tom Wood has been given a warning following his strike on an opponent during Saturday's Pool A clash against Wales at Twickenham.
Italy's Maurizio Vancini deemed the prop to have breached Law 10.4 (a) when he struck Wales full-back Liam Williams in the 66th minute of the match.
The warning equates to a yellow card. Under the Rugby World Cup 2015 Disciplinary Programme, a combination of three yellow cards or Citing Commissioner Warnings received by any player during the tournament will result in a hearing for the payer in question.
As it is Wood's first offence, he will be free to play against Australian in the crucial Pool A fixture at Twickenham on Saturday.
