The 31-11 Stormers win over the Brumbies at Newlands on Saturday has restored their confidence and head coach Robbie Fleck believes his charges 'are on the right track'.
A loss to the Sharks at home two weeks ago sparked hasty prophecies of doom for the Cape Town side's hopes at making the play-offs, but a victory against the tournament favourites instilled renewed optimism at Newlands.
Fleck stated that the win gives them some much-needed momentum going into their fixture with the Jaguares this weekend.
"It’s massively important," Fleck told Netwerk24.
"We are playing against a quality team. They weren’t that good in South Africa but certainly they will be a different prospect at home. That was the daunting task going into this week, knowing that at the back end of the Brumbies you’re facing the Jaguares."
Fleck also maintained that going into this past weekend's match wasn't about making a statement, but rather to boost team morale following their defeat to the Sharks.
"It’s about what is happening inside (the squad). I think there is a bit of belief now," said Fleck.
"That was a disappointing loss last weekend (against the Sharks). There is now belief that we’re on the right track and we’re going to keep working hard. We’re still having soft moments in our game…we can be a little more clinical as we go along."
The Stormers will face the Jaguares at Velez Sarsfield in Buenos Aires on Saturday.
