Bath and England have suffered a blow after David Wilson was confirmed to require surgery later this week to relieve pressure on a nerve.
The impingement in his neck will see the in-form tighthead prop miss the remainder of England's Six Nations campaign in a blow to the team.
"It is really unfortunate for Davey and disappointing for us to lose him for the Six Nations. However it was agreed surgery was the best solution to get this issue cleared up," said England head coach Stuart Lancaster.
Mike Ford, Bath head coach said: "We are disappointed for Davey that he'll miss the Six Nations. Following his operation, he'll return to the club to commence his rehabilitation.
"His return will be based on his progress during rehab, but our medical team are confident he will be back playing for Bath before the end of the season."
