Toulon fly-half Jonny Wilkinson is expected to be available for next weekend's Heineken Cup clash against Cardiff Blues in Wales.

Wilkinson was forced to leave the field in the 28th minute against Glasgow on Sunday, replaced by France fly-half Frederic Michalak.

The former England fly-half suffered a nasty cut to his thumb, that required stitches.

Toulon finished the match with Michalak at scrum-half and Matt Giteau moving infield to ten in a reshuffled backline, which played a role in their collapse in the second-half against Glasgow as the Scots ran in four tries.

The club's staff however are confident that Wilkinson will make a recovery in time to face the Blues on Saturday.

Wilkinson created the first try for Delon Armitage against Glasgow and added three conversions and a penalty before departing.
