Scarlets tighthead prop Rhodri Jones has committed his future to Wales by signing a National Dual Contract, it was announced on Friday.
He joins Dragons duo Tyler Morgan (centre) and Hallam Amos (wing) in signing dual contracts with the Welsh Rugby Union.
Jones, 22, is a former Wales U20 prop first called into the senior squad in the November of 2011 but he had to wait until the following June to make his debut against the Barbarians at the Millennium Stadium.
The Scarlets tighthead featured in all five of Wales 2014 Six Nations games, starting the final outing against Scotland and featured in the matchday squad for all four of Wales’ Series matches this year.
“Having confirmed that Ken Owens and Liam Williams have both signed new contracts with the region earlier this week we are pleased to see another of our international players committing his future to the region,” head coach Wayne Pivac told the Scarlets website.
“Rhodri has developed through the development pathway here at the Scarlets and we’re pleased to see him staying at the region.
“Having experienced players commit their futures to Parc y Scarlets, and Wales, reinforces our intentions and ambitions to compete on the highest level and continue to strive to reach our potential.”
Jones said: “These contracts offer us stability and peace of mind as well as first class resources to allow players to concentrate on playing. The Scarlets have played a huge part in my career so far and I hope I can reward theirs and the WRU’s faith in me in the coming seasons.”
