Bath hooker Rob Webber is determined to make a statement when they take on Toulouse at Stade Ernest Wallon in the Champions Cup on Sunday.
The Recreation Ground outfit, who lost their opening pool matches to Glasgow and the French giants, can still progress if they win their remaining fixtures.
Wins away and home against Montpellier has put them in this position and Webber wants to continue their revival with a victory in France on Sunday.
“It would be one hell of a turnaround if we could qualify, we know that. It is something that we would love to do, but more than that, we want to be able to go away to a team like Toulouse and come away with a win,” he told epcrugby.com.
“That is the real challenge for this team, it’s almost the next step for us and if we can do it, it will be an amazing tick in the box. We have quite a young group of players and we went into Europe not really knowing what to expect.”
He added: “We had our eyes opened by that game up in Glasgow, the game is different. It’s refereed differently, the teams play differently, it’s not like the Premiership where you can get to know a team, we don’t normally come up against these teams and they play the game differently but good sides know how to beat these teams.”
