Leicester head coach Aaron Mauger thinks their 50-17 win over Bristol is proof his side can qualify for the Premiership semi-finals.
Pat Cilliers, Owen Williams, JP Pietersen (2), Telusa Veainu, Brendon O’Connor, Adam Thompstone and Greg Bateman scored tries as the Tigers ran rampant at Welford Road against the league’s basement side, with fly-half Williams also sending over 10 points off the tee.
Mauger was delighted with the win as they now look forward to next week’s trip to Harlequins with confidence before the rest of the run-in.
“We’ve always been in contention for the play-offs and we believe we will be there at the end,” the Tigers boss told Premiership Rugby.
“The confidence we have taken from our last two performances is really good for us. The belief has always been there, it’s just nice to trigger that with some good performances.
“Our performances have been better considering our previous form. We had lost three on the bounce in the Premiership and stuttered our way through Europe. We hadn’t been great prior to that but the last two weeks have been good for us.”
