Leicester Tigers prop Ellis Genge says his side are meeting their targets and are making less mistakes.
The Tigers currently sit at fifth on the points table with 27 points and have won six out of nine games this season. After the East Midlands derby against Northampton Saints last weekend he is looking forward to the rest of the season.
“It was my first Premiership derby and I really enjoyed it. We had a goal and we achieved that over the last few weeks. Now we have other business to attend to and that’s what the boys expect to do,” Genge told the Leicester Mercury.
“I just get my head down and push. But you can see in our performances that everyone is just gelling a lot better and we aren’t making as many mistakes as we were.
“We are going forward a lot better and playing in the right areas.”
Genge went onto praise the depth in Leicester Tigers squad after the international season deprived the team of some of their stars.
“Freddie has been on fire. That has been good for us and helping a lot. If Freddie’s playing well and all the other boys are playing well we can gel as a unit.
“We haven’t had a full squad with players away for internationals but people have fitted in well.
“Greg Bateman has been playing brilliantly at tight head. Logovi’i Mulipola and Manu Tuilagi are back. We’ve got depth so we aren’t worried about what other teams have got. It is about us moving forward and that is what we intend to work on.”
