Eastern Province Kings skipper Luke Watson has been sidelined for at least a month due to concussion.

Watson, who has seen little action in the last year due to injuries, sustained a blow to his head midway during the first half of the Kings' 30-25 defeatto the Blue Bulls in Pretoria at the weekend.

He recovered from a foot injury to captain the Port Elizabeth-based outfit in the Currie Cup opener against western Province but missed their second match against the Golden Lions with flu.

The Kings are sweating over the availability of fly-half Gary van Aswegen and centre Tim Whitehead, who are both battling to overcome knee injuries sustained against the Bulls.

The Kings' next match is against the Lions in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.
