A thoroughly dominant Wasps performance saw them power past Bristol at the Ricoh Arena 70-22 on Sunday.

The win means Wasps remain top of the table and Bristol still have only a single point to their name so far this season.

Wasps were looking to make it three wins from three at the start of the season, and it didn't take them long to open the scoring.

90 seconds in, a powerful driving maul was pushed over the line, with new hooker Tommy Taylor getting the credit for the try.

A Tusi Pisi penalty opened Bristol's account for the game, before two Jimmy Gopperth penalties quickly extended Wasps advantage to eight points.

The home sides second try came a few minutes later, with Elliot Daly taking advantage of a fortuitous bounce of the ball to dot down in the corner.

Jake Copper-Woolley scored their third from a second driving maul, before lock Matt Symons secured the bonus point score.

An incredible 14 minute spell was capped with Wasps fifth try, when Christian Wade crossed the whitewash after a lovely backline move.

That score meant Wasps went into half-time with a 37-3 lead. Bristol came out of the blocks firing in the second half, with skipper Jack Lam finishing off a powerful drive to score his sides first try of the afternoon.

But their momentum was quickly halted by a second try for Christian Wade, a wonderful individual effort and the home sides sixth try.

And the hosts weren't done there. Replacement hooker Ashley Johnson crashed over from close range to take Wasps over 50 points.

Danny Cipriani scored the Coventry sides eighth try of the afternoon after a lovely interchange left the former Sale man with a free run-in.

Bristol remained defiant, with Mitch Eadie grabbing their second try following a strong line-out. But, Wasps continued to look emphatic. Another close range burst from Johnson saw him grab his second try.

The visitors were still looking for their own try bonus point, and a third try came through replacement Gaston Cortes.

Wasps looked stung by that score and quickly hit back with their tenth try, a brilliant finish from outside centre Elliot Daly.
