Wasps v Worcester Warriors - Aviva Premiership

Late tries from Frank Halai and Sailosi Tagicakibau helped Wasps come back for a 32-22 win over Worcester Warriors.

The first half saw Worcester seize the lead with a try from winger Cooper Vuna and eight points from the boot of Ryan Mills.

Wasps solitary three points came from a Jimmy Gopperth penalty. More drama followed in the second half.

Worcester scored three more penalties courtesy of Andy Symons. But, Wasps clinched victory with four tries from Kearnan Myall, Guy Thompson, Halai and Tagicakibau, with Gopperth kicking nine points.

After early pressure from the home side which saw a neat break from England hopeful Joe Simpson, it was Worcester who took the lead.

James Haskell was penalised at the breakdown and Symons slotted the penalty to give the Warriors a 3-0 lead.

The visitors extended their lead with another Symons penalty and then went on to grab the games first try when Vuna intercepted an Elliot Daly offload.

Worcester's momentum was halted when they were reduced to 14 men, blindside flanker Matt Cox sin binned for a high tackle; with Gopperth kicking the resulting penalty to reduce the deficit to ten points.

Wasps started the second half as they finished the first with Gopperth slotting his second penalty of the game.

The pressure finally told for the home side when Myall crossed the line for their first try of the game. Gopperth added the extras to tie the score up at 13-13.

However Symons kept up his perfect record from the tee with three more penalties. As the game entered its final ten minutes, a grandstand finish was ensured when Wasps replacement Thompson crossed the line.

A Gopperth conversion brought the home side to within three points. However, Halai broke Worcester hearts in the final minute with a try in the corner. And then from the kickoff, Tagicakibau broke to score Wasps fourth try and deny Worcester a losing bonus point, whilst also securing a try bonus point for themselves in a remarkable turnaround.
