Warriors fixture moved to Rugby Park

Glasgow Warriors will play their Champions Cup fixture against Racing 92 at Rugby Park, following unprecedented rainfall in the area this year.

There are strong indications that the original venue for the fixture, Scotstoun, will not be able to cope with the severe rainfall and that is why an early decision has been made to alter the venue.

The decision was taken in consultation with the EPCR. The match itself will still take place on Saturday, January 23.

"The 18,128 all-seater Rugby Park is home to Kilmarnock Football Club and has a World Rugby-compliant 3G pitch. The stadium also hosted the first Tier 1 rugby international on an artificial surface in November 2014 when Scotland beat Tonga 37-12," read a statement released by EPCR this week.

"Around 6,650 tickets have already been sold for the clash with Racing which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, and an additional 7,500 tickets will be available from glasgowwarriors.org tomorrow," continued the statement.
