Leicester Tigers have confirmed the signing of second-row forward Lou Reed on loan from Cardiff Blues.

Leicester Tigers have confirmed the signing of second-row forward Lou Reed on loan from Cardiff Blues.

Reed, 26, made the first of his five Test appearances for Wales in February 2012.

He will provide experienced cover in the Tigers forward pack with Louis Deacon and Geoff Parling among the senior players currently sidelined.

“We wanted to bring in some experience to those second row options and Lou was keen to take up this opportunity with us,” said Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill.

Leicester’s miserable start to the season continued with a 33-16 loss away to Gloucester.
