Wales investigated by World Rugby

Wales are under investigation from World Rugby over an alleged breach of regulations, with players outside the squad joining training.

Only players in the 31-man squad are allowed to train with the Welsh camp, but following injuries to a number of key players, reports are emerging that up to eight players from outside the squad have joined in training.

Props Nicky Smith and Rob Evans, who are on standby as Warren Gatland waits on the fitness of a number of his front rowers, were involved at Wales' training session in Sudbury, as well as extended squad members Rhys Patchell, Jordan Williams, Dan Baker, Kristian Dacey, Dan Fish and Aled Summerhill.

No players outside the squad are allowed to take part in training or stay in the same hotel, but according to the Daily Mail, Wales did not believe they were breaking any rules.

Even if Wales are found guilty of breaching regulations, reports indicate that there is little prospect of a points deduction.
