Toulon have confirmed the signing of Duane Vermeulen for next season on a three-year deal with the European champions.

The 28-year-old Springbok number eight will join Toulon from the Stormers after the World Cup and will be the natural replacement for Chris Masoe, who is heading to Racing 92.

Vermeulen joins the likes of Ma'a Nonu, Samu Manoa and Salesi Ma'afu in joining Toulon, while confirmation of Paul O'Connell's switch from Munster is expected in the coming days.

In addition to Masoe, Toulon have also lost a wealth of experience with the retirements of Carl Hayman, Ali Williams and Bakkies Botha.
