Van Graan the Springboks’ sole survivor

Johann van Graan is expected to be the only surviving coach from the Heyneke Meyer era when the Springboks name their new boss.

Van Graan is the only member of South Africa's coaching staff still under contract with SARU, with John McFarland (defence), Ricardo Loubscher (backs) and Pieter de Villiers (scrum) having not been offered new deals according to Sport 24.

Highly regarded by many in South Africa, it's unclear what Van Graan's role will be moving forward.

The likes of Allister Coetzee, Johan Ackermann and John Plumtree have all been linked with the vacant head coaching role following Meyer's exit.

Meyer's last game in charge was the Bronze Final win over Argentina at the Olympic Stadium in London during last year's Rugby World Cup.
