Free State Cheetahs head coach Franco Smith has made one change to his starting XV that will take on Western Province in Bloemfontein on Friday.

BG Uys has been handed the loosehead jersey this week and takes the place of Caylib Oosthuizen, who drops down to the replacements for Maks van Dyk.

One other tweak on the bench sees Tertius Kruger come in for the injured Tienie Burger, with Boom Prinsloo still absent due to a broken jaw.

Western Province won the reverse fixture between these two sides 9-3 a fortnight ago, despite the Free State Cheetahs being 0-3 up at the break.
