Free State Cheetahs coach Franco Smith has named a relatively inexperienced starting XV for Saturday's clash with the Blue Bulls in Bloemfontein.

Amongst the forwards, captain and lock Francois Uys and openside flanker Boom Prinsloo are the only players who were regular starters during the Cheetahs' Super Rugby campaign, while Springbok tourist Raymond Rhule (wing) and veteran utility back Rayno Benjamin are the most experienced backline players in the run-on side.

Benjamin will start at inside centre alongside Francois Venter who will wear the number 13 jersey with Niel Marais and Shaun Venter starting at fly-half and scrum-half respectively.

Other players in the starting line-up who have played at Super Rugby level for the Bloemfontein-based franchise include Coenie van Wyk (full-back), Clayton Blommetjies (right wing), Henco Venter (blindside flanker), Willem Serfontein (lock) and Caylib Oosthuizen (loosehead prop).

Former Sharks fly-half Fred Zeilinga has been named on the replacements bench.
