Ulster win without bonus

Date published: March 3 2017

Ulster got the better of Treviso 19-7 on Friday but couldn't claim the bonus-point in horrendous conditions at Kingspan Stadium.

The weather ultimately played a major role in dictating the contest in Belfast although a positive for Ulster was the return of Ireland back Jared Payne, who started in midfield.

It was Payne's try in the 21st minute that put Ulster ahead, converted by Ruan Pienaar, with the score staying at 7-0 by half-time.

Two tries in five minutes from Sean Reidy and Charles Piutau then solidified Ulster's lead, Pienaar converting on of the two efforts to make it 19-0.

Treviso prop Filo Paulo did cross late on for a consolation score but it had no effect on the outcome, as Ulster make up ground on the top four.
