Hurricanes prop Loni Uhila has admitted to being "honoured" to get the nod to start in their Super Rugby quarter-final against the Sharks.

Uhila, who came on early against the Crusaders last week, played well as the 'Canes secured a bonus-point win that saw them finish top.

He received widespread praise but one voice in particular resonated most with the prop as his wife, Amanda, was impressed by his effort.

"I think that's what most people have said. Even my wife said it's the best game I've played so I think so," he told the Dominion Post.

Due to Reggie Goodes being ruled out with an injury, Uhila gets the nod from the outset against the Sharks and he cannot wait to play.

"I'm pretty honoured to start. I'm a little bit nervous, but I think that is a good thing. But I'll go there and do my best," revealed the prop.
