Cardiff Blues moved back above Bath at the top of Pool 4 in the Challenge Cup after they saw off Pau 27-12 at Cardiff Arms Park on Friday.

The Welsh region led 13-5 at half-time thanks to a try from USA international wing Blaine Scully and the boot of fly-half Steven Shingler.

In reply lock Daniel Ramsay crossed for the French side, who lost to Bath last week, as they went into the break very much in the game.

The Blues crucially got the first score though in the second-half when centre Cory Allen crossed on 50 minutes to push his men 20-5 up.

Allen claimed his brace 11 minutes later but the Blues could not add the elusive bonus-point try as Cardiff take four points from the game.
