Fly-half Billy Twelvetrees scored all of Leicester's points in their 29-11 Premiership victory over Wasps at Welford Road.
Fly-half Billy Twelvetrees scored all of Leicester's points in their 29-11 Aviva Premiership victory over London Wasps at Welford Road on Saturday.
Twelvetrees filled in at fly-half in place of injured England pivot Toby Flood to produce a virtuoso performance, scoring two tries and adding 19 points with the boot in a comprehensive win.
Wasps' points came from a Nic Berry try which gave Wasps a fleeting 8-3 lead early in the first half before Leicester took a strangehold on the game.
The result sees Leicester go level on points with third placed Northampton, who had downed Premiership leaders Harlequins on Friday, while Wasps remain second from bottom.
Wasps took an early lead when Elliot Daly kicked a penalty goal, but the scores were level within ten minutes when Twelvetress replied in kind for the hosts.
The game's first try came on 14 minutes courtesy of Berry's break down the blindside from the ruck. The conversion was missed meaning the score remained 3-8 and Twelvetrees reduced the deficit to two with his second penalty of the match at the end of the first quarter.
The Tigers then took the lead and it was that man Twelvetrees who again provided the points. His expertly crafted try, which he converted, put Leicester 13-8 up before sides traded further penalties before the interval.
There was a slow start to the second half, with the only points in the first 30 minutes following the restart coming from the boot of Twelvetrees.
He struck on 50 minutes and then on the hour to strech Leicester's lead, and the victory was ensured when Twelvetrees crossed for his second try of the match on 72 minutes.
His final conversion of the evening, which maintained his 100percent record with the boot, put Leicester 29-11 up and there would be no way back in to the game for Wasps.
The final score probably doesn't fairly reflect the endeavor of the visitors, whose cause wasn't helped when Tim Payne was dispatched to the sin-bin in the second half.
