Injured Wallaby wing Lachlan Turner has joined the Reds on a two-year contract.

Injured Wallaby wing Lachlan Turner has joined the Reds on a two-year contract from the Waratahs.

He will bolster the Brisbane-based franchise's wing stocks after they lost the services of Digby Ioane to Top 14 club Stade Français and Luke Morahan to the Western Force.

Turner has played 15 Tests for Australia and is regarded as one of the best finishers in the game but his career has been hampered by serious leg injuries in the past two seasons.

The 26-year-old represented the Waratahs in 71 Tests and scored 25 tries.

“After talking with Richard Graham one of the big attractions in signing with the Reds was the role he saw for me in helping Queensland reach its goal of winning another Super Rugby title,” Turner told the Reds' official website.

“With the talent that the Reds already have and the strength of rugby in Queensland, it's not a matter of 'if' this happens but 'when' and it's something I want to be part of.

“The move north will provide some exciting opportunities for me that I hope will add to my game and help me add value to the Reds.”

Reds head coach Richard Graham expressed his delight at adding to his wing options

“Lachie is a very good addition for the Reds and provides balance to our squad list,” he said.

“At 26-years-old, he has significant Super Rugby and international experience. He'll add quality to our outside backs and his speed is clearly an asset.”
