Blues second row Patrick Tuipulotu will not report for pre-season training next week due to ongoing “personal reasons”.
The All Blacks lock returned home from New Zealand’s tour last year after their match with Italy and now according to the New Zealand Herald has been “sidelined indefinitely”.
Tuipulotu has been a star player for the Blues in recent seasons and an All Black since 2014, winning 12 caps for New Zealand.
All players who toured with the All Blacks in November are coming to the end of a mandatory 12-week rest period before returning to training next week, but Tuipulotu will not be among them.
The New Zealand Rugby Players’ Association did not elaborate to the New Zealand Herald why Tuipulotu would not be at training, while his management company refused to comment.
