Clermont’s injury worries have eased somewhat with the news that French international centre Wesley Fofana will be fit to face Saracens in the opening round of the European Champions Cup this weekend.
Fofana picked up a hamstring injury while at a French national team training camp last week and was in doubt but local newspaper La Montagne reports that he has totally recovered and will start at Allianz Park.
There is similarly good news concerning scrum-half Thierry Lacrampe, which comes as a relief to les Jaunards as Morgan Parra is ruled out for six weeks.
Likewise for loose forward Julien Bardy, who has stitches in his face but should be able to play.
