Toulouse put Racing to the sword

Toulouse returned to their winning ways when they secured a hard-fought 14-3 home victory over Racing 92 on Sunday.

Racing fielded an under-strength side, with several of their stalwarts either on the bench or not in the matchday squad, and it showed as they battled to get going.

Benjamin Dambielle open the scoring for the visitors as early as the 1th minute but that was as good as it got for the Parisian-based outfit as they failed to score any other points during the rest of the match.

Toulouse struck back with a Yacouba Camara try in the 26th minute which Sebastien Bezy converted and 10 minutes later the home side were awarded a penalty try and Bezy was again successful from the kicking tee.

That meant that Toulouse led 14-3 at the interval and although Racing played better after the break, neither they nor their hosts troubled the scorers during an attritional second half.
