Toulon have been dealt another blow after their tough start to the season with injuries to two key members of their back row.
Juan Smith and Steffon Armitage both limped out of training on Wednesday and will require further medical examination to see if they will be fit for this weekend's trip to Stade Français.
Former Springbok Smith, who has captained the side in both of their opening Top 14 games, was suffering with a back injury.
Meanwhile Armitage, arguably Toulon's best forward so far this season, injured his shoulder, and also had to leave his team-mates before the end of the session.
Toulon have lost their first two games of the season for the first time in a decade, and on Sunday face a trip to reigning Top 14 champions Stade Français.
A third loss would likely leave them in the relegation zone as they struggle to cope with their 16 World Cup absentees.
