Toulon have confirmed the arrival of Cheetahs fly-half Willie du Plessis on a short-term deal during the World Cup.
The 25-year-old former Blue Bulls and Golden Lions player has been brought in to fill the gap created by the absence of Fred Michalak and Matt Giteau during the World Cup.
Du Plessis played eight games for the Cheetahs in Super Rugby this year. He is in line to make his Toulon debut in Friday's Top 14 opener against Racing 92.
Meanwhile, Toulon have yet to confirm a replacement for Wallaby fly-half Quade Cooper, who looks set to renege on the contract he signed with the European champions.
Crusaders fly-half Tom Taylor is expected to take Cooper's place after Bayonne confirmed that the three-cap All Black would not be playing for them following their relegation.
