Toulon prop Salesi Ma'afu has been handed a four-month suspended prison sentence after a brawl in a car park back in August 2015.

The former Australia international was also fined €1500 after being convicted for hitting a young woman in the car park of a beach near Mourillon.

Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal had previously suggested that Ma'afu would face severe action from the club if he was found guilty.

Boudjellal is yet to make a statement since Ma'afu's conviction was confirmed.

Ma'afu won 14 caps for the Wallabies between 2010 and 2011 and only signed for Toulon this year from Northampton Saints.
