Toulon are considering signing Lachie Turner, Andrew Horrell and Mike Harris on short-term deals as World Cup cover.
The European champions are set to be without a number of first team regulars, including Wallaby duo Matt Giteau and Drew Mitchell during the World Cup.
As a result Bernard Laporte has already said they will bring in some World Cup jokers, with the trio, who all played under Laporte for the World XV last week, being targeted according to La Provence.
Turner would come in as a direct replacement for Mitchell and Bryan Habana, while Horrell and Harris would offer cover at fly-half and in midfield, with Giteau, Fred Michalak and new signing Quade Cooper all set to be absent, as is centre Mathieu Bastareaud.
As it stands, Toulon could be left with very few options at fly-half, with only Australian youngster UJ Seuteni on their books, depending on whether Giteau and Michalak make the final cut for Australia and France respectively.
However La Provence claimed that the trio are simply targets for now, with no deals in place as yet.
