Mourad Boudjellal has denied the rumours that he is set to bring in Fabien Galthié as a replacement for Bernard Laporte.
According to RMC Sport, Galthié is being lined up to replace Laporte, who is currently preparing a bid to become the next president of the FFR.
The plan had been for Diego Dominguez to take over from Laporte at the start of 2016, however it is now being reported that Boudjellal wants to make the change sooner after a poor start to the season, with Toulon currently bottom albeit with a game in hand.
With Dominguez not available, Galthié was reportedly set to take over, however Boudjellal has moved to deny the report.
"I completely deny it. I can guarantee you that it's unfounded," he told Le Parisien.
"Christophe Galtier (Saint Etienne football manager) maybe… Fabien Galthié, no."
Galthié was replaced by Jake White as Montpellier coach last season after four years with the club.
