Toulon are considering a dip into the transfer market to sign a medical joker for crocked fly-half Frédéric Michalak.

Toulon are considering a dip into the transfer market to sign a medical joker for crocked fly-half Frédéric Michalak.

The experienced number ten suffered a new injury to his left shoulder, an area of some concern over the years after he previously underwent surgery.

Michalak suffered a dislocation in the loss against Stade Français on Saturday.

No official timeframe has been announced for his return, but if Michalak is out for 'several months' as reported then Toulon may look for reinforcements.

“If we have a long-term injury, for example over a period of several months, we will bring in a medical joker,” Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal told La Provence.

“Regarding Fred, I'm not optimistic because his shoulder was loosened. Anyway, there also might be a nice surprise.”
