Saracens full-back Alex Lozowski is expecting a sizeable task when they face off with Toulon in their Champions Cup showdown on Saturday.
Allianz Park will be the venue as the French side arrive knowing that only a bonus-point win will see them pip Saracens as pool winners.
Lozowski thinks the Top 14 team will look to utilise their powerful forwards and can’t wait for the challenge that will hit them this weekend.
“Every player wants to play in the big games and it’s one to look forward to for sure,” he told Saracens‘ website as he hopes to remain in the 15 jersey. “Playing at your home ground, in front of your home fans in Europe, it is one of the biggest stages to play on as a player.
“It’s always going to be a challenge when you play against Toulon. They have a huge pack full of great players, big powerful forwards and big backs as well. We turned them over at their place earlier this season, so I don’t know, maybe they might be coming over here hoping to get their own back. They know they need to win the game convincingly as well so I think the game is set-up to be a belter.”
For reigning European champions Saracens, who have a place in the knockout stage already assured, this game will be about looking to secure a home quarter-final, which is driving Lozowski and his team-mates.
“A good performance is the most important first and foremost but it (a home quarter-final) is a drive for us,” the exciting player added.
“We will back ourselves to play away from home in the quarter-final and progress but we want to give ourselves the best possible chance in this competition – securing a home quarter final gives us that.”
