Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal admits that Leigh Halfpenny could join Wasps if the club don't agree a new deal with the Wales star this week.
Halfpenny's contract expires at the end of the season but he has an option to extend his deal for a third year.
The 26-year-old, who lifted the European Cup with Toulon back in May, has been linked with Wasps and also a return to Wales.
Boudjellal's quotes however suggest that Toulon are eager to keep Halfpenny at the Stade Mayol.
"If we have no contract agreed with Leigh in the next week for next season, I think he will be going to Wasps," Boudjellal told the The Rugby Paper.
"We are speaking to Leigh and his agent. He has a good proposition from teams in England with Wasps the main one.
"We would like him to stay.
"I don't know whether he will because in France we have some problems with the salary cap. We hope to have some information in the next week."
