Bristol have announced the signing of Tongan international Soane Tonga’uiha on a one-year contract.
The 34-year-old prop joins from Oyonnax following two seasons in the Top 14. Tonga’uiha – who has represented his country in two Rugby World Cups – previously enjoyed seven successful years with Northampton Saints.
“Soane has a wealth of experience and has proven himself to be a consistent performer at the highest level,” Bristol's director of rugby Andy Robinson told the club's official website.
“He’ll provide excellent guidance for our young props and understands what is required to be successful in the Premiership. We look forward to welcoming him into the squad for pre-season.”
Tonga’uiha added: “I’m looking forward to playing in the Aviva Premiership again – it’s a hugely competitive league and brings out the best in players.
“Bristol Rugby is a good place to be – there’s a buzz around the place ahead of the new season and I’m excited to be involved.”
